Creative Process

In order to keep myself inspired I love to follow many artists on Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook. I also like to take in-person classes so I could learn new techniques.

I am hoping to take a class in July hosted by Kara Bullock Art Studio in Tustin, California. I won't know until the end of May. Crossing my fingers :)

Most of the time I do not plan ahead on what exactly I would like to create, but lately I have started to write down a plan and a schedule.

I ask myself the following questions:

1. How many art sculptures I would like to create?

2. How long it will take to create them?

3. Is there a theme or a collection?

Then I break into more details on what exactly it takes to create a bird, an art doll and any other steps I need to follow.

For example:

Goal: Create 5 Bird People

Time to create: 5 Days

Schedule:

Day 1 - Create feet and body for all 5 bird people.

Day 2 - Add clay and add special features for all 5 bird people.

Day 3 - Once dried, examine that that there are no cracks, add more features if needed it, and get ready to paint.

Day 4 & 5 - Paint birds bodies and their features

and Voila!

This way I have been feeling more productive. I've been participating on a lot more events and I feel that I need to start showing more versatility. I want to share with others the beautiful art of clay.

I hope this insight into my creative process inspires to get organized and start planning your creative times.
