Recently I shared a quote on IG "Creativity is experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking the rules, making mistakes and having fun". This resonates with me because that's exactly what I've been doing since the day I discovered Mixed Media Art and Paperclay.
This past weekend I taught my 1st Paperclay Art Class in Burbank, CA. Even though it was a small group I think it was exactly what I needed in order to learn and see what works. These healing meditation art dolls turned out amazing. I’ll be planning another in-person class soon and I'll be adding an online class too! ♥️ So stay tuned. It's going to be amazing.
Here are the two handmade sculptures I’ve created during the class I taught this weekend. I only finished one during class, and the day after I finished the smaller one. Both were created with an intention that was written right before we started creating the body. The message became part the art doll’s core/center. Their message Connect 2 Love and Peace & Love were engraved as a reminder. They definitely carry so much emotion and intent. These are healing and meditation dolls that could be used in one’s sacred space or just for decor. I've seen that a lot of people are resonating with them that I've decided that online class should be added if you are not local and can’t attend the upcoming class.
I've been wanting to experiment with my paperclay scultpures lately that I asked my friend Laure to show me how to work with wool. Laure Arnoff is an amazing Feltist who sculpts using wool. You may want to check out her art at Sculpting with Wool. Here's what I've created using felting. Meet the Rainbow Maiden.
