So why do I create Art Dolls?
My intention when creating these lovely handmade art dolls is to fill them with love and serenity so that's the energy they will transmit to the place they end up. There’s something magical about sculpting a face...you don’t know what the end result will be until the end once the face is painted. 💖 Seeing them evolve in front of me it’s so intriguing and exciting too! All my faces don’t ever look the same unless I use a mold. Which sometimes I do. I show my students in my class how to create a meditation Art doll using a mold. Sculpting faces is a very meditative and intuitive way of creating and takes a very long time to master this skill, the secret is to practice and continue expanding your knowledge. I have not yet mastered this skill but I continue with my sculpting journey and continue growing
And what exactly are "Art Dolls"?
Here's a very good explanation from Wikipedia: Art Dolls are objects of art, rather than children's toys, created in a wide variety of styles and media.
Art dolls productions as explained above demand a wide range of skills and techniques, including sculpting, painting and design. They are often multimedia objects made from many different materials such as fabric, paperclay, air-dry clay, polymer clay, wax, wood, porcelain, natural or synthetic hair, yarn, wool, and felt. As works of art, art dolls can take weeks or months to finish. That's why they are all One-of-A-Kind and a bit pricey. Remember all OOAK dolls are available for purchase in my website. Support my business and as a token of gratitude 10% will be donated to Feeding America.
